The objective was clear: to guarantee maximum hygiene and uphold the organoleptic qualities of the milk, ensuring that every drop retains its natural taste and nutritional value. To achieve this, Mila selected two Gable Top RG280 packers, the pinnacle of Galdi’s line regarding hygienic performance and reliability. These machines are engineered to meet the highest cleanliness standards, preventing contamination and preserving the milk’s purity. Beyond hygiene, the plant needed to be intuitive and versatile, capable of adapting to various operational needs. The user interface of the machines (HMI) is a standout feature of Galdi packers, designed to provide an easy and immediate user experience, simplifying operations for the staff and reducing the learning curve for new operators.
Hannes Zelger, Head of Operational Technology, expressed his appreciation for the design, saying, “The Galdi machine is designed in a very advanced way. I like its user interface: it is designed precisely for the operator and what they need at that moment.” This thoughtful design ensures that operators can focus on efficiency and quality without being bogged down by complex controls.
Flexibility was another key element. Thanks to the two RG280 fillers, which exemplify advanced food packaging machinery, Mila can now package its products in various formats, ranging from 200 ml to one liter, with or without a cap. This versatility allows for quick adaptation to market demands while ensuring consistent performance across all types of packaging. Whether responding to consumer preferences or seasonal demands, the plant’s ability to switch formats seamlessly is a significant advantage in maintaining competitiveness and meeting customer expectations.

The production layout was optimized for a more efficient workflow, and the packers’ installation on the Bolzano plant’s second floor required precise aerial handling executed with complete safety. The two installed machines were also integrated with the data management system (MES), which was developed to ensure a connected, efficient, and secure plant, emphasizing cybersecurity.
